Debt Settlement

senior couple working on a computer

Debt settlement through negotiations can best be described as an aggressive, honest, and ethical approach to paying off your creditors and collectors at significantly reduced amounts while avoiding bankruptcy. Each settlement provides immense monetary value, along with nourishing your sense of accomplishment, by bringing closure to a strained financial situation that could have gone on for years longer. With each settlement comes light at the end of the tunnel.

Negotiators use their professional experience, software tools, long-term relationships, and “insider” contacts within the creditor and collection industry to negotiate the balance you owe down to a fraction of the balance.

Once successful negotiations have been completed on your account that have been accepted by you, the negotiator will then demand a settlement letter that must pass our quality standards for accuracy and validity. The creditor and debt collector must then follow federal reporting guidelines by updating your credit report to reflect, at minimum, paid, settled, or zero balance due.

Step One: Free Consultation

Our highly trained professional Debt Consultants are available for free to help you identify what program you may qualify for or what other options you may have. If you do qualify for a debt settlement program, they will carefully structure your custom action plan specifically designed to get you back on the road to a debt free life. With your total commitment towards working together with us, we can help you achieve that goal.

If you would like a debt consultant to call you and provide more information, please complete our online registration form and a debt consultant will contact you only at the time you have designated.

You will need your most recent billing statements, notices, or legal documentation from your creditors and collectors. If you do not have any written evidence of your debt, you may be called upon to request your credit report to determine if the creditor or collector is reporting your account at all.

We will help you through this easy process – step by step.

Step Two: Your Customized Debt Settlement Plan

After reviewing all of your options, you will have the opportunity to choose a debt settlement plan that works well within your budget. We will then send you an enrollment package that you will need to complete and return to us.

Your enrollment package will then provide us with your personal information and information regarding your creditors and/or debt collectors that we will need to successfully negotiate your account(s). Once we receive your enrollment package, an underwriter will verify that your enrollment package is complete and that you may begin our program. Then, a member of your negotiating team will call you to introduce themselves and other team members to answer any questions regarding the future settlement of your account(s). Please be advised that negotiators are paid incentives based upon saving you as much money as possible on each settlement.

Step Three: Saving Settlement Funds in Your Settlement Account

One of the key ingredients to successfully completing a debt settlement program is your continued commitment to saving money each month while still living within your budget. Our Client Care Representatives are always available to coach you on different aspects of the program including how to deal with creditor calls or harassment, staying on target with your budget, creative ways to save money, discuss the probability and possibility of selling unwanted assets to raise settlement funds on great deals, or any other topic that would be of benefit to you to help you complete your program as quickly as possible.

Step Four: Settlement of Your Account(s)

Consumers often ask us if they could settle their accounts themselves. You may be surprised at our answer, which is yes! However, the outcome would likely be much different. Using a professional negotiator can have significant advantages such as:

Collectors are trained to find your trigger in their attempt to upset you to get you talking about your account. Once they have accomplished that, their odds of collecting from you (the consumer), will usually increase exponentially.

Lawgistix’ third-party professional negotiators are much more methodical, knowledgeable, and less emotional than a consumer would be as they deal with that behavior routinely and therefore do not react to said, triggers.

Our negotiators continue to make professional relationships and contacts within the debt industry, therefore knowing in advance what most creditors and debt collectors will accept as a minimum settlement. They have software at their fingertips to alert them of trends when creditors and debt collectors will take even less than the usual amounts. We also get cash calls from creditors and debt collectors that are trying to raise cash, usually at the end of a month, quarter, or year, and again at tax return time. A sudden great settlement from a particular creditor or debt collector alerts the negotiating staff to focus on other Client's that have accounts with that same creditor or debt collector. The result is usually another great settlement that a consumer would not have had exposure to if they had attempted to settle the account themselves without the benefit of knowing what person, or what percentage, was just previously offered to another consumer.

Every settlement letter must contain very important data, including information regarding past creditors or debt collectors that have been associated with the account at any time. Correctly processed settlement letters will render the account satisfied and no creditor or debt collector will ever be able to collect upon the debt again. If a consumer fails to recognize and then demand data that ensures a creditor or collector from collecting the debt again, or attempting to resell the debt to another third-party debt collector, the consumer could be subject to collection attempts or legal collection action to recover the debt.

Lawgistix works for you, not your creditors. We are your Advocate and stand ready to help you with any issues you may have regarding the settlement of your Account(s).
